Revolutionary Road Drama, USA Nominated for 3 Oscars: Male Supporting Actor: Michael Shannon, Set Design, Costume It's the mid-50s in Connecticut. The young couple Wheeler seem to live "the American dream" with his two children, in their beautiful house on Revolutionary Road and with neighbors who envy them. But over the polished surface bubbling frustration over the lives they lead.
It is a poignant film about broken dreams and illusions, deceit and widespread fear. The film grows in parallel with the characters' desperation and fragmentation increases. This is Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet's first film together since the huge success with Titanic from 1998. Have difficulty understanding how Winslet could be nominated for The Reader, and not this one. She makes a really strong portrait of a woman, full of dreams about life, who can not resign themselves to just be the perfect wife / mother. All nominations are well deserved, could be happy with a few more. It is te x a much stronger film than The Reader, physics concepts and connections which is nominated for Best Film. Rating: 1 2 3 4 5
