We believe that opera is represented and has to do more if it is well-known and loved the opera The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte, K. 620) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791). We do not usually sports emmy buy tickets if it is a concert version but this time they had the ticket, and the references to the friends of ours ... we could lose.
Yesterday we would have liked to be closer to the orchestra (we're spoiled because we have the musicians in the auditorium to play), but the high prices of the Palace and we can not allow us to "sentence" in row 14 of the second floor; I say this because as a perfectionist sports emmy and an orchestra that both respects the spirit in which Mozart composed his music, such as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, sure we were losing shades from the "glory" is not be appreciated. Yet we understand from the first chords of the opening we were facing one of the events of the season.
Director René Jacobs loved and that visually directs the orchestra without too spectacular, too static power, but knows how to bugle unforgettable musical moments.
On the small stage which as you know is the Palace, they fit the orchestra and the choir RIAS Kammerchor, on either side of the stage (women almost embedded sports emmy in the wall) and solo singers, over two levels, terms were entering and leaving the played there singing; on the scene of a suitable sports emmy size about subtitles, but without much contrast dull and that I was not able to read text comfortably afford ... and that after making sports emmy the visual effort for 5 minutes I thought it was much more significant attention to the music and voices.
The orchestra of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin has a quality beyond sports emmy doubt, both for string instruments, such as metals, according to what the other musicians orchestra cover and in this case the sound was totally balanced. She was the star of the night.
Suffice to say that although it was a concert version, the characters, they represent their roles without any added clothing except how Papagena out dressed as old woman. Visually it was not heavy, despite which lasts for 3 hours, as the singers performed and some of them pretty well, moving from one place to another and come and go to different places stage or even in the same auditorium.
Almost at the same height RIAS heart Kammercho r voices that impress by their perfection, with a projection that arrived perfectly in all its fullness to all corners of the Palace.
Respect for soloists, one of the protagonists, Topi Lehtipuu (Tamino), only start gave us a scare, as his voice almost not listened to our seats, but after much improved, probably was the big disappointment night. Instead baritone Daniel Schmutzhard (Papageno) was pleasant surprise of the night.
As for women was much more balanced, with soprano Miah Persson extraordinary (Pamina), with a voice that ... I marvel. Im Sunhae and soprano (Papagena), that despite the short due role, won for his performance and his voice.
The other two important sports emmy roles in this extraordinary opera, are the Queen of the Night and Sarastro. Soprano Burcu Uyar, it was the "Queen of the Night" in my life, but reached its role with dignity, even in the most famous aria in the history of opera, the last high note was extremely ... short. reminded me of that joke already ... uyyyy !!!. However the low Marcos Fink (Sarastro) I got to get goosebumps with a extraordinary voice, which came to "heaven" on the second floor, very clear and powerful.
I also quite liked the three ladies, soprano Inga Kalna (first lady), as well as mezzosopranos Grevelius Anna and Isabelle Druet ...... as well as the voices of three kids of St. Florian Sängerknaben.
